Kodak Wratten color-correction filters have proven themselves in photography
and science. They are made of a gelatin foil and are available in a variety
of colors and in finely differentiated grades. They are used for the correction
of even the finest color balances in color films or for intentional surrealistic
color changes. A disadvantage of these filter foils lies in their vulnerability
to dirt, scratches, and fingerprints. Humidity absorption can also change
their color characteristics. Because B+W color-correction filters consist
of original Kodak foils laminated and cemented between high-quality optical
glass, the above mentioned disadvantages will not occur. Due to its edge
sealing, absorption of humidity is impossible. The B+W filters are truly
durable.
